Akamedia awarded "Red Herring Global Winner 2008"

Akamedia, today announced that it has been awarded "Red Herring Global Winner 2008". Red Herring 100 Global Winners are companies chosen from winners and finalists of the previous North America, Europe and Asia Red Herring Top 100. Out of 1,800 successful and highly eligible companies, the Red Herring editorial team deployed a detailed process to drill-down the best companies first to 200 finalists, then to the Top 100 winners of this global award. Evaluations were made on both quantitative and qualitative criteria, such as financial performance, innovation, management, global strategy, and ecosystem integration.

The announcement of the winners was made at the Red Herring 100 Global taking place in San Diego in January. "We were so pleased to announce Akamedia as a Red Herring Top 100 Global Company," commented Red Herring publisher Alex Vieux. "Akamedia has proven to be a company excelling in its industry and its ripples have turned into waves. We are pleased to have included Akamedia in our list of promising companies. We look forward to the changes it make to its industry in the future."

Akamedia named "Finalist of Red Herring 100 Europe"

Red Herring today announced that Akamedia was named a Finalist of Red Herring 100 Europe, an award given to the top 100 private technology companies based in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) region each year.

“This year's impressive list of submissions from companies demonstrates Europe's growing role as a major center of innovation in the global technology sector,” said Red Herring Editor-in-Chief Joel Dreyfuss. “The exceptional accomplishments of European technology startups and entrepreneurs are a testament to the rapid advancements being made in building the European innovation ecosystem.”

Red Herring's lists of top private companies are an important part of the publication's tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs. Companies like Google, eBay, and Skype were spotted in their early days by Red Herring editors, and touted as leaders that would change the way we live and work.

Red Herring will honor the Red Herring 100 Europe Finalist companies at its Red Herring Europe 2008 event. Scheduled for April 14-16, at the Westin Dragonara.

Akamedia nominated for the International Award of the IE Club

Akamedia has been nominated by the IE Club in France as one of 30 most promising start-ups with international focus. The Award ceremony will happen on the 14th of June with the participation of great entrepreneurs: Geoffroy Roux de Bézieux (Virgin mobile & ThePhoneHouse), Denis Payre (Kiala & Business Objects) et Tariq Krim (Netvibes).

Nominee for the European ICT Prize

We received this morning a very cool email informing us that Akamedia had been selected as one of the 70 "Nominees for the European ICT Prize" out of 450 applications from 30 countries.
The next stage should ended on the 19th February with the final selection of the 20 Nominees for the European ICT Grand Prize.

Akamedia selected for Tremplin Entreprises at the French senate

Akamedia has been selected for the 2006 edition of Tremplin Entreprises as one the Top 30 most innovative start-ups in France.

Co-organized by the French Senate and Essec Business School, Tremplin Entreprises is the premier venture capital event in France, equally indispensable for both venture capitalists and the entrepreneurs behind innovative projects. The eighth edition takes place on July 5th and 6th, 2006, in the prestigious setting of the Luxembourg Palace, Paris, France.

Akamedia @ Capital IT 2006

Capital IT is a 2-day conference gathering innovators, investors and opinion leaders of the IT industry. The event offers opportunities, testimonials, demonstrations, prospects for funding companies, experiences and practices illustrating the amazing potential of innovation from IT start-ups! Capital-IT 2006 takes place today 26th and tomorrow 27th April, 2006, at the Espace Cardin in Paris.

First recognition of our project to revolutionise the broadcast industry ;-)

In 2004, Akamedia received the second prize for creation of the 'Challenge des Grandes Ecoles'.

Organised by the alumni society of ESC Clermont Business School, in partnership with MiLiVo (development agency supported by Michelin, Volvic and Limagrain), the 'Challenge Grandes Ecoles de la Création d'Entreprises' rewards the best projects of creation in the French region of Auvergne, carried by alumni of the French 'Grandes Ecoles' (engineering or business graduate schools).

Akamedia joins Smartjog and Nextamp to develop "TV Runs Tracking"

In 2004 and 2005, together with Nextamp & Smartjog, Akamedia has been selected to participate in the programme Riam.

The Riam (Research and Innovation in Audiovisual and Multimedia) is a program supported by the French Minister of Industry, the French Minister of Research and the French Minister of Culture through the CNC (Center National for Cinematography). The three partners worked on the common project 'TV Runs Tracking', with the objective to enable the tracking of the actual transmissions of watermarked video material on TV!
