By AkaTeam on Friday, October 1 2010, 09:45 - Press Releases

Akamedia has started distributing video products made by the leading Russian multimedia information agency RIA Novosti. The two companies have signed a contract providing for their long-term and – in the hopes of both sides – mutually beneficial commercial cooperation. Akamedia offers RIA Novosti’s products to international TV companies, online broadcasters and mobile clients. Under the contract, video news produced by RIA Novosti in English will be available on Akamedia’s news service www.newspusher.com in the section «Russia News».
RIA Novosti’s active expansion in recent years has put it in the lead in national ratings, and its cooperation with Akamedia will help the agency realize its ambitious plans and establish itself on the international market. «This cooperation strengthens RIA Novosti’s position on foreign markets. It is a sign that the content created by the leading Russian multimedia agency is in demand abroad», said RIA Novosti Deputy Director General Yevgeniya Bugas about the prospects of the new partnership. «RIA Novosti’s videos are regularly aired on Russian TV channels, and we expect our new relationship with Akamedia to bring our videos to international partners as well».
Before concluding the contract with Akamedia, RIA Novosti revised its process of releasing video content and transmitting materials to partners. Now all video material released by the agency meets European standards.
«We are excited to feature RIA Novosti’s news content on Newspusher», said Akamedia’s president and founder Lionel Faucher. «We hope that RIA Novosti’s video content will take the lead among news about Russia and give our consumers a Russian perspective on world events. Our relationship with RIA Novosti allows us to expand the products we can offer to TV channels and radio stations interested in purchasing video content packages from Akamedia».
